Bonjour,
Un nom inexpliqué concernant la G. Bretagne.
Voici l'article proposé par Rivet & Smith :

* Susurra :

Ravenna, 109-13 : (= R&C 284) :
SUSURADERIVATION. The name is (with others of its group of islands : see ANAS) Latin, a feminine version of
susurrus 'whisper'.
R&C suggest that the name implies 'whispering island', perhaps in connection with an oracle (observed by the Roman fleet ?); they cite
Mercurius Susurrio in
CIL XIII. 12005 at Aachen, to be understood as either an oracular god or a wind-god, as a parallel. However, there might be a more mundane explanation, e.g. the sound of surf.
IDENTIFICATION. Unknown, but apparently an island off Britain.
-------------
En anglais : whisper : chuchoter, chuchotement.
Un dieu :
Mercurius Susurrio ? = Mercure chuchoteur ?
